Dr. Zerbe’s lab studies the genetic and biochemical factors that contribute to the natural variation of specialized metabolism and enable plants to thrive in various ecological environments. Ultimately, we aim to translate this knowledge into bioengineering systems to meet the need of society for plant-based bioproducts.
