Answers to Last year's Midterm #1
MIDTERM #1 - January 31
The first midterm is a take-home exam. It will be distributed in class on Thursday and is due on Friday, February 1 by 5 pm in the Plant Biology Office, 1002 Life Sciences. You may use resources such as notes, handouts, and text, but you may not consult with anyone about the exam.
You are operating under the UC Davis Honor Code.
Answers to Midterm #1
Written requests for regrades will be accepted up until Thursday, February14. Please turn in your request to a TA or John Harada
You have the opportunity to earn up to 25% of the points that you missed on Midterm #2. To earn these extra credit points, you must write out and turn in the complete correct answer for any question for which you did not receive full credit. You may turn in the corrected answers for as many questions as you wish. You can receive up to 25% of the missed points - your corrected answers will be graded.
The following is specific information about this extra credit opportunity.
(1) Write or type your corrected answer on a separate sheet(s) of paper, staple these sheets to your original, graded exam, and turn in both.
(2) You may use your notes, handouts, websites, or books, but you are under the honor code not to receive help from anyone else on this assignment.
(3) This extra credit opportunity must be turned in by 1 PM Thursday, March 13. You can turn in the assignment to either TA, or to either professor at Tuesday's lecture, or to Professor Harada's or Sundaresan's mailboxes in the Plant Biology Office, 1002 Life Sciences.
(4) Points earned in this extra credit opportunity will be handled as follows. The cutoffs for final letter grades will be determined strictly on the basis of exam score totals (two midterms and the final). Once cutoffs
are established, extra credit points will be added to your totaled exam scores, and you will receive the grade determined by this total. Therefore, this extra credit opportunity will not affect the course average grade, and the extra points can only help, and will not hurt, your individual grade.
(5) If you have any questions, please contact Diana <dburkart@ucdavis.edu>, Zac <zachestnut@ucdavis.edu>, Professor Sundaresan <sundar@ucdavis.edu> or Professor Harada <jjharada@ucdavis.edu>.
